African Caribbean Business Information and Communications Service
The project built on work we had undertaken developing a database of black and minority run and owned businesses in east London and the Lee Valley. Its focus was to ensure that business people from these communities could gain best advantage from the use of new information and communication technologies. The project was supported by the National Westminster Bank Afro-Caribbean Initiative and by the public and private sectors. Its success allowed many businesses to thrive and created a new wave of ICT entrepreneurs from within the BME communities.
